Impressionism Still-Life

This acrylic painting is meant to mimic the colours and strokes often found in the impressionistic art of artists like Monet and Degas from the 19th century. I learned about these techniques of capturing colour in one of my art classes while enrolled in the ACAM program at my high school. I found learning about art history and the evolution of art styles overtime incredibly interesting and I look forward to continuing my studies into the past that support today’s modern art more once I go to university. This still life was painted as part of a school project and is one of my favorite studies from my high school career.
